Who Needs Santa Toys?

Don't get me wrong, Ben has been playing with his new Polar Express Train, and Luke is a wild man on his new tricycle (he always says "Mom, I ride fast!"), but they have also picked up some new hobbies. both of them are constantly scaling our palm tree out front. Ben has also been decorating it with chalk for whatever the next party or holiday is. Both, especially Lucas, have been "building" things with scrap wood that we had in the garage..measuring, stacking, etc.
Luke is working lately on getting himself dressed, and is adamant to do it by himself. He had his shorts on with both legs in one hole, and scootched up like a mini-skirt all day yesterday, and refused to let us fix them. I have to leave a good hour for him to work on getting dressed in the morning. Ben is still writing random letters on everything (and handing out tickets with his new police costume he got for Christmas). Our driveway looks like it has code written all over it in chalk right now.
Luke is talking more and more these days. This weekend, Matt asked Luke if he felt sick. He said "no, I take medicine daddy!" Just as the Christmas season is ending, Luke finally learned the words for a couple Christmas songs. You can hear him laying in bed some nights singing "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.." Ben has also managed to lure Luke into his train addiction. Now, Luke is always making train sounds and dressing up in the engineer's outfit we have.
