Around Town

We have been trying to enjoy all of the amenities and fun within our area (mini staycations of sorts).

We went to the Salvadore Dali Museum in St. Pete on the first weekend it opened for the new facility.  Ben's school has a Junior Docent Program for 4th and 5th graders.  They learn all about the artwork and give tours.  So, we went to one of the tours.  They liked hearing about the artwork told by another kid.    We finished the afternoon with meeting Matt at Mazzaro's Italian Deli for lunch - our local trip to a foreign land!

We also went to the annual kite festival at one of the local beaches.  I forgot that we can still go to the beach in the winter if the sun is shining.  The boys were so happy to run around at the beach again!  We enjoyed watching them burn off energy and watching the kits soar overhead!

We went to a Folk Festival at Heritage Village near our house.  The boys LOVE going there and wandering around the old houses, train station, gardens and such...They got to try roping a wooden cow, building an old-fashioned fence and even driving an old time car!
